Note: All exhibitors must enclose with entries a photocopy of insurance company name, policy number, & proof of at least $1 million liability coverage.


Stakes: $10. All other sections $4. Post Entries: Stakes $15, all other sections $6.

 

Stall Fees: Please order early due to shortage. Box $15 per day (state on entry form day or days stalls required. Shavings not provided)

Entry & stall fees to accompany entries or they will be returned. All horses must be out of the barn by 12:00 midnight on Saturday to allow time for setup of Sunday’s sheep show.

  

NOTE: See map of grounds in centre of prize list for location of Saddle & Harness parking. Only vehicles with valid parking stickers will be allowed on the grounds, unauthorized vehicles will be towed at exhibitors expense.


Only one entry form to be used for each exhibitor, if more forms are needed telephone the Fair Office at (613) 838-3420 or photocopy. The Secretary will not accept entries via telephone, fax or email. Animals to be named when making entries. Rider/driver to be named with Ring Clerk on the day of the show. Coggins Test papers must be on hand at the show.

Any outside interference from the rail which interferes with the performance of another exhibitor entry will result in the immediate disqualification of the exhibitor connected to the incident. This ruling will be enforced at the discretion of the Ring Master.

 

Horses or Ponies must show in one division only, they may not cross-enter.


To be eligible for Stake, horses or ponies must have been entered, shown and judged in at least one other performance section in their division with exception to your Junior Hackney Horse or Pony.

The American Saddlebred Show is a recognized Society point show. The Arabian Show is an Ottawa Valley Arabian Horse Association point show. Riders must be a OVAHA member in good standing prior to entries to be awarded points.

CARRIAGE DRIVING (Open)

14  Open Pleasure Driving Reinsmanship - Drivers may be worked at any gait requested by the judge, and may be asked to execute a figure of eight and/or perform other appropriate tests.

54  Open Pleasure Driving Turnout - Open to any breed of horse, pony or team and suitable 2 or 4 wheeled carriage driving vehicle, excluding wire wheels. Entries will be judged primarily on the performance and quality of each turnout.

 

CHILDREN’S DIVISION (Open to youth 18 years and under as of January 1st of current year - no stallions)

  1   Junior Showmanship at Halter, horse or pony (Hackneys are excluded)

11  Walk/Trot, English or Western. Riders not eligible for Sect. 5, 6, 34 or 36

34  Lead Line (child 8 yrs and under). Children may ride or drive. To be judged at a walk only. Rider/driver and attendant must be properly attired. Rider/driver must be able to sit in the saddle/cart and hold the reins without help. No stallions. Horse or ponies. Riders not eligible for Sect. 5, 6, 11 or 36.

25  CHS Junior Showmanship, horse or pony. Shown in hand by a Junior Exhibitor. Sponsored by the CHS Junior Division. Open to all registered Hackney (Mare or Gelding). To have long mane and tail, or braided mane and short tail. Exhibitor or member of his immediate family must be a member of the CHS. Cross entries permitted.

67  CHS Junior Exhibitor Pleasure Driving. Open to all registered Hackney (Mare or Gelding), suitable to be driven by a Junior. To have appearance of natural tail and mane. Exhibitor or member of their immediate family must be a member of the CHS. To be judged on manners, quality of the animal and handlers ability of the animal, 50% driver ability, 50% for suitability of animal. To be shown at a flat walk, pleasure trot, and road trot.

73  CHS Junior Driving, horse or pony, driven by a Junior Exhibitor. Sponsored by the CHS Junior Division. Open to all registered Hackney (Mare or Gelding), suitable to be driven by a Junior. To be shown to a suitable 4-wheeled vehicle. To have long mane and tail, or braided mane and short tail. Exhibitor or member of their immediate family must be a member of the CHS. To be judged on manners, quality of the animal and the handlers ability, 50% driver ability, 50% for the suitability of the animal. Cross entries permitted.
